I did this color study in preparation for painting “Malta Olive Groves”. It gave me a chance to get to know how those olive trees bend and contort. And figure out how to describe the thickness of the leaves as they bunch. And lastly the figure out my color mixes for those mellow cool greens and intense warm greens where the sun lights up the grass.
